Onsite Test Lead

Job Description

Location: Los Angeles
Relevant Work Experience: at least 5 years of recent experience in the testing/development area or equivalent, and 3 years experience as a test lead.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required

Responsibilities:

• Lead a test team up to 10 people onsite and offshore
• Reports to Test Manager
• Interacting with customer in gathering requirements, scheduling, resolving issues, and reporting status
• Working with offshore team to transfer requirements, application and business knowledge
• Working with the offshore team to create test plan and test cases
• Guide the onsite and offshore teams to automate test cases and/or create performance scripts to meet customer requirements
• Review documents of team members
• Possibly hands on creating test plan and test cases, or automate test cases
• Assign tasks and monitoring progress
• Preparing metrics for projects/team
• Review performance of team members

Qualifications:

• 3+ years proven experience in leading a test team in an onsite/offshore model
• Ability to estimate work efforts and allocate tasks to team members
• Must be able to make adjustments to schedules and effort to accommodate project changes
• Ability to track project progress and effectively report status on a regular basis
• Good client facing skills with excellent communication skills
• Must have proven familiarity various testing phases and methodologies.
• Must be able to write test plans and test cases
• Must be able to understand and translate functional requirements and/or specifications into test cases
• Must have experience in transferring knowledge to the offshore team
• Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
• Ability to generate defect and productivity metrics for their project
• Knowledge of automation and performance testing – experience with at least one tool a plus
• Chinese verbal communication skills a plus
