Technical Consultant/ Developer

Location: Washington DC

Summary:

The technology consulting position will be responsible for and to execute and implement end-to-end Summit based technology solution. We need candidates with strong backgrounds in both finance and technology, as they will work directly with the business and technical users to customize and extend the Summit product using Summit s rich set of technical APIs.

Furthermore, the technical consulting responsibility includes:

• Team and/or project management participation on larger project teams
  
• Understanding of the Summit architecture and the methods for deployment of the Summit software from a systems integration and administration perspective
  
• Leading or working on Summit project teams developing both the implementation plan and then subsequently managing that implementation over a period of time
  
• Helping clients to understand and identify, and the Summit product to produce, end-of-day processing
  
• Developing solutions that will include leveraging current and cutting edge technology such as grid computing and plug integrated technology
  
• Understanding Summit database structure
  
• Managing the development and running database upgrades
  
• Managing systems and performance optimization
  
• Software engineering and an ability to communicate and oversee technical design needs
  

• BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering; or equivalent experience
  
• Experience in the finance industry (3 yrs or more)
  
• Strong C/C++ or C# development background on UNIX and Windows environments
  
• Knowledge of SUMMIT FT and SUMMIT API's
  
• Relational database experience (Sybase, Oracle and SQL Server) and excellent knowledge of SQL
  
• Good communication and writing skills
  
• Ability to write specifications and test plans
  
• Ability to gather requirements from end users
  
• Travel
  

• Experience with Java
  
• Familiarity with middle-ware technology Scripting experience (Perl, shell, etc.)
